The Rt Rev’d Christopher Williams

Bishop Chris Williams is the retired bishop of the Arctic, having served as Suffragan Bishop from 1987 until 1991 and then as Diocesan Bishop from 1991 until his retirement in 2002. Originally from Manchester, England, Bishop Williams has ministered in Canada’s arctic since 1960, serving parishes in Salluit, Cape Dorset, Baker Lake, Yellowknife, and Iqaluit. He was also involved in the early stages of translating the Bible into Inuktitut, the language of the Eastern Arctic Inuit. As honorary assistant at Holy Trinity, Bishop Williams assists in preaching, sacraments, and pastoral care.
